Pass.
I know I have 4 card support, but I have a flat working 1-count and the vulnerability doesn't suggest bidding.
If partner can't open with a strong bid, then even his very shapely 2-suiter will need some help with the missing honours and I doubt my Jack is helping too much. I can see us losing 2 (or opposite H, 3) side suit tricks and at least 2 in the reds. Too expensive.
5D (paper tiger!)
I am taking partner for at least 5-6 in the red suits (good players don't generally introduce a 4 card suit at the 4 level).
I prefer to play in pd's longer suit as I expect pd to be forced repeatedly.

I seem to recall bidding 5H which H played for 4-off undoubled -400.
One of the keys to the hand is remembering that however good partner is, he didn't open with a strong two.

True, but players sometimes prefer to open strong 2-suiters at the 1 level to allow more bidding space.
If you play 2D as 8 PTs in any suit, then with a strong 2-suiter hand with diamonds any any other suit, you're at the 4 level b4 you're able to introduce the 2nd suit.

I agree with you. This wasn't meant to be an easy hand though!
